Private Residence

When a prominent Fort Worth couple desired more space for entertaining at their home, a key challenge was to retain the character and style of the existing mid-century modern ranch house while creating space that is up-to-date and functional. The solution was to open up the back of the house and introduce a separate 400-square-foot pavilion with an outdoor kitchen and fireplace. Renovations included extensive reworking of the dining room and kitchen area to improve the flow of the space and direct guests into the outdoor pavilion, while providing views of the garden. A giant pecan tree in the backyard became an organizing element for the project, and an English garden was added around the pavilion as a nod to the clients’ annual trips to England.
