Broadway Baptist Church

In 2013, Hahnfeld Hoffer Stanford conducted a complete Building Assessment of Broadway Baptist Church’s campus, followed by a Conceptual Master Plan to address the current conditions and future needs of the church. Based off of that initial plan, several phases of work have been completed.

The sanctuary, built in the 1950s, was renovated with new flooring, pews, sound system, and lighting. In addition, the front platform was rebuilt, all the plaster was repaired and painted, and the entire structure was stabilized. The sanctuary seats 1200 congregants.

The Petersmith Building, which will house newborns – 5th graders was built in two phases in the 1960s. Updates to that building included new fenestration, MEP infrastructure and space planning to address functionality and future flexibility. Accessibility and parking were also upgraded.

Another phase of design work renovated the chapel, which seats 200 people. The pews were removed and replaced with more flexible seating and new lighting, flooring and paint were added. In addition, a columbarium to house the cremains of up to 640 was installed.

Throughout the renovation, finishes were upgraded.
