Three of Lee A. Hill's photographs have been juried into a National Exhibition titled - MELTING POT at the Eclectic Expressions Gallery in Arlington, Texas. Dedication Ceremony for Clarence and Kerry Scharbauer Hall took place April 9. TCU commissioned design of this 70,000sf, 4-story academic building in 2007 which is in large part the home of AddRan College of Liberal Arts, TCU’s largest academic department.

ACH Child and Family Services, formerly All Church Home for Children (ACH), has received a $1.5 million pledge from the Paul E. Andrews, Jr. Foundation for improvements on its new Wichita Street Campus in southeast Fort Worth. The existing 20 acre campus, previously known as the Masonic Home and School of Texas, is being converted in multiple phases to meet the needs of All Church Home for Children’s family services operations, and the communities it serves. Eight existing early 20th century Neo-Tudor style buildings are being converted, preserved and updated. Three new complementary buildings are part of the new master plan and include a new Welcome Center and two Behavioral Group Homes servi ng children 6-12 years old.

DFW Revit User Group meeting | Tony Hartin, Ping Cai, and Derek Jamison presented to
the monthly DFW Revit User Group meeting at the Dallas Center for Architecture on September 24th. They shared their experiences – mistakes and lessons learned – in integrating Revit into the firm’s design, documentation, and construction administration processes. Several projects completed using Revit were shown. These include the Northpark YMCA, TCU Scharbauer Hall, Arborlawn United Methodist Church Addition, Fort Worth ISD’s H.H. Peace Elem entary School, and Keller Intermediate/Middle School. |

Hahnfeld Hoffer Stanford received two AIA Fort Worth Design Awards at The Modern.
Keller ISD’s Basswood Elementary School received a Merit Award, and Northpark YMCA, a City of Fort Worth/YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth joint venture, received an Honor Award. It is a great honor to have our work recognized by design and academic leaders in the industry. |

2009 TSA Studio Awards recognizes Hahnfeld Hoffer Stanford architect Bart Shaw.
Each year the Texas Society of Architects seeks to recognize the best in recent architectural design with two awards programs, the TSA Design Awards and the TSA Studio Awards (for unbuilt projects). Eight unbuilt projects were selected for recognition in the 2009 TSA Studio Awards program after this year's jury reviewed the 109 entries. The jury met July 22 in New York City in the offices of Hariri and Hariri Architecture. Jurors were Gisue Hariri, a partner in the host firm, and Marc Tsurumaki, a partner in Lewis.Tsurumaki.Lewis Architects. The projects recognized with Studio Awards are:
- • Sorensen Bridge by Brave/Architecture in Houston
- • Extreme Birding, Costa Rica & Alaska by Morris Architects in Houston
- • Flow City/Valencia by Hernan Molina, a student at Texas A&M University
- • Kurdistan Transformational School by SHW Group in Austin
- • Lift: Home by Bart Shaw, AIA, in Bedford
- • Light Modulation by Nicholas Richardson, a student at UT Arlington
- • Museo Nacional de Textiles del Peru by Jeremy Olbrys in Austin
- • Yarauvi: A Necropolis in the Dead Sea by Miró Rivera Architects in Austin
The awarded projects were featured in Texas Architect and celebrated at the TSA Convention in October. |
